Teaching the Afternoons

Practical ideas for supporting high quality teaching and learning in Geography, History and RE.

This course aims to:

  • Develop teachers’ confidence and enthusiasm for teaching Geography, History and RE
  • Provide teachers with the opportunity to explore the core skills and key themes underpinning the subjects
  • Equip teachers with practical, interactive and fun teaching ideas that promote talk and allow children to achieve depth in learning.
  • Allow opportunities for the sharing of good practice

Course Content:

This one day course will cover the following areas:

  • The core skills and key themes underpinning the subjects
  • Essential subject knowledge
  • Using effective teaching strategies and engaging learning activities
  • Depth and mastery
  • Opportunities for cross curricular links

Aimed at: KS1 and KS2 teachers

Time:  09:30 – 15:30
